When any client comes to us with a clear goal in mind the strategy is simple, how can we get their site optimised to accomplish this goal, and what long-term tactics can we use to maintain results and improvements? We knew that the strategy, as it often does, had to have some foundational behind-the-scenes work to their site. They had a lot of low-quality pages and technical issues that needed to be fixed if this campaign was going to accomplish anything. Hence, step one was resolving these technical issues and fixing the site’s cruft pages and other problems.
Alongside this, we knew that keywords and content were going to be crucial for a local SEO strategy; hence, we researched the field and designed a clear keyword strategy around their service. We would use this to rework content they already had, such as key landing pages and location pages as well.
With the technical fixes built into the strategy, it was crucial to establish and distribute authority to the site through a highly tailored and effective link strategy. Thus, we also planned a link plan to go alongside the campaign to slowly establish the pages we were fixing and rebuilding.
We believed, by focusing on these elements during the campaign, we would be able to establish a better local presence for the dental surgery.
We started the campaign by running an audit on every page the site had, we were able to see what pages needed to be removed, which ones could be merged, and which pages needed updating to have better use of keywords and SEO formatting.
Pages that already had a good amount of organic traffic, or were a crucial landing page, we ran through Surfer SEO to have their content optimised to include better headings and NLP keywords. This meant their site was optimised now for further SEO strategies, and we knew that we needed to start targeting the local side of the campaign now if we were to succeed with their goal. Hence, we looked at establishing a better Google my Business presence and designing some key local landing pages that target the areas they were looking to rank highly for.
This led us to develop local silos around specific areas of the site, which further helped us to establish the overall site on Google.
For these local landing pages, we created keyword-rich content that would internally link to one another so we could get the most out of the pages, which would help them to rank higher and create a nice internal funnel for the organic traffic. We created more posts for the Google my Business page and pushed for further engagement on it. With the initial foundations we made to the site, we were able to begin prioritising these local strategies. This led us to develop local silos around specific areas of the site, which further helped us to establish the overall site on Google.
With the keyword research done, we were able to target specific keywords through blog posts that would internally link back to landing pages, again pushing the presence of the site for specific and relevant search topics.
As a result of this long-term campaign, we were able to fulfill the client’s needs and much more. We completed a campaign that specifically targeted local SEO techniques to drive organic search traffic to this dental surgeries website. Furthermore, we were able to optimise their site for Google and further SEO work that they may wish to undertake. In essence, not only did they see a growth in local traffic, but they now had a site that was able to thrive in rankings and search results.
